With this certification, you can work in the following industries: refrigeration and air conditioning, casting and moulding, computer numerically controlled (CNC) programming, fluid power, heavy fabrication, instrumentation, maintenance, plant mechanics, marine electronics, mechatronics, patternmaking, robotics, toolmaking, welding, and watch and clock services and repair.

The Certificate IV in Engineering (MEM40105 cert 4 engineering fabrication) provides the knowledge and skills required for an individual to be employed as a Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Mechanical) – Level II, Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication) – Level II, Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Electrical / Electronic) – Level II within the metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries or as Higher Engineering Tradesperson of an equivalent level in other industries.This mechanical engeineering qualification was specifically developed for existing tradespersons in the engineering field, or to be delivered to Engineering Trade apprentices wishing to study at a higher level.
