The Certificate III in Make-Up qualification is aimed at individuals who work as makeup artists and are responsible for designing and applying make-up for a range of purposes and occasions in the entertainment, media, fashion and beauty industries. A make-up artist must possess well-developed consultation and technical skills, and have the ability to apply judgement and discretion. The individual is responsible for his or her own outputs, and be able to work cooperatively with other individuals, such as media production staff, fashion stylists, and photographers. Projects may be completed on a freelance basis, or as part of a team working on media or fashion sets, photography studios, retail cosmetic counters and make-up studios.
You will need to provide a range of evidence to assist your assessor to make a decision about your competence. The types of evidence you may be asked to provide can include:
